Rome Part II: Yesterday. Boring.

Read Part One if you haven't! GO! Oh, and remember: I wrote this last night, so in the first sentence its 21:45 yesterday, the 2nd.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, it’s about 12 hours later now (21:45) and I’m (again) chilling in my room, writing to you guys. We toured the Vatican today, which I actually found to be kind of disappointing. We saw the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum, as well as St. Peter’s Cathedral (we actually attended a mass in there, and of course I had no idea what was going on since the whole thing was in Italian), and sadly I wasn’t really ‘wowed’ by anything. St. Peter’s Square was actually pretty cool, it was very open and it just felt kind of empty, even though it was packed. The contrast was very interesting.
As you may have figured out, by the time we got back from the Vatican, Sydney and I just ate dinner down in the hotel lobby (groceries we picked up from Termini) and then I went upstairs to my room for the internet and computer so I could write to all of you. I was just finishing the paragraph you read right before this one when Sydney knocked on my door and asked if I could do her a favor, which ended up me being going up to her room and staying there. Okay, explanation.
If I haven’t said this already, we only get one key per room (unless you con the front desk, like James and I did….twice). Last night, Lindsay was out with most everybody (in fact I bet Sydney and I were, like, the only ones to stay at the hotel) and so Sydney had to take the key down to the front desk so Lindsay could get into the room upon her arrival, since Sydney was planning on going to go to bed. Keep in mind this was around 22:00. Anyway, I went up to Sydney’s room, she took the key back, and then Sydney came back and we had this conversation about why I have all these terrible, sad, melodramatic philosophies about everything (note that because of the content of the conversation, I’m not going to talk about it…..you can all thank me when I get back), and I didn’t get back until after midnight and so I was tired and we had class at 8:00 and I wasn’t about to wrestle with this place’s god-awful internet to get a blog post online. So, hence, you get three posts today. And that was the end of last night, really, it was a pretty boring day I think. Today was more exciting, which I will write about in the next post.
